GAZA(Palestine Foundation Information Center) Khalil Al-Hayya, member of the Hamas Movement’s political bureau and head of its negotiation file, said on Thursday that his Movement refuses to return to square one and does not need any proposals from any party.
“We affirm our adherence to what was agreed upon after President Biden’s announcement at the end of May and Security Council Resolution No. 2735, whereas the movement has approved both on July 2,” he said in a televised statement.
He further pointed out that any agreement must include a comprehensive cessation of aggression on the Palestinian people, a complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, including the Philadelphi Corridor and the Rafah crossing, the freedom for the displaced people to return to their homes freely and without any hindrance or inspection, relief for our people, and reconstruction of what the occupation has destroyed, leading to the conclusion of a serious deal to exchange prisoners.
“We are not in need of any new papers, and that proposals from any party must primarily discuss obligating Netanyahu and his fascist government to implement what has been agreed upon, not returning back to square one or turning in the same vicious circle that Netanyahu wants in order to achieve his real goals of continuing the aggression against our people and even expanding the aggression to turn it into a regional war that burns the entire region, destabilizes it, and destroys its capabilities.”
“Everyone around the world has reached a clear conviction about the reasons for the disruption of the negotiations process and the party obstructing the agreement, which is constantly seeking to thwart the efforts to reach an agreement either by committing more massacres or setting new conditions. President Biden himself confirmed two days ago that Netanyahu is not doing enough to complete a deal, which is a stance, although shy and late, but clearly diagnoses the issue and indicates the responsibility of the fascist Zionist extremist government for the stumbling in this path.”
Al-Hayya emphasized that the policy of military escalation and committing more massacres to release prisoners by force has proven failure, and has led, and is leading, to more prisoners losing their lives either by bombing or direct shooting by the occupation soldiers, as happened in the Shejaiya neighborhood [eastern Gaza City] and the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
If the US administration and its President Biden want to reach a ceasefire and complete a prisoner exchange deal, it must abandon its blind bias towards the Zionist occupation and its unlimited support for this fascist government, the Hamas leader continued.
He called on the US administration to exert real pressure on Netanyahu and his government, and obligate them to what was previously agreed upon, which the Movement already agreed to on July 2, based on Biden’s announcement and the Security Council resolution.
“We confirm that the movement’s leadership has begun intensive communication with the mediators and several countries in the region and outside to clarify the movement’s stance, the status of the negotiations process, and the intransigence, evasion, and obstruction it faces by Netanyahu and his fascist government.”
“We confirm to our steadfast Palestinian people that we will not allow to pass any agreement that detracts from their right to stop this brutal aggression, gives legitimacy to any Zionist presence in any part of the Gaza Strip, and will not allow to place restrictions on the return of the displaced to their homes, on their relief, and on the reconstruction, and that we are committed to the achievement of a serious prisoner exchange deal.”
He concluded by hailing the Palestinian people for their legendary steadfastness, which smashed all of Netanyahu’s fascist plans, applauding the Palestinian resistance from all factions.
