GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Central Gaza Agriculture Directorate carried out several field visits to agricultural areas in the governorate, including Al-Zawayda and Nuseirat, to assess the main challenges facing farmers and highlight their suffering and needs.
During the visits, officials listened to farmers and examined the reality of agricultural work on the ground. Several challenges emerged, foremost among them shortages of agricultural supplies, seeds and fertilizers, rising production costs, water shortages and irrigation-related problems.
Farmers said these challenges have placed additional burdens on them and limited their ability to meet the needs of the agricultural season and maintain production amid difficult conditions.
The visits come as part of field follow-up efforts to assess the agricultural sector and farmers’ conditions, convey their needs, and draw greater attention to supporting the agricultural sector and strengthening farmers’ steadfastness as a key pillar of food security and local production.
