GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), A Palestinian child was martyred and another wounded on Friday morning after an Israeli drone dropped a bomb on them in the Old City, east of Gaza City.
Gaza’s Civil Defense said an Israeli quadcopter dropped the explosive device on the two children while they were filling water containers behind the Omari Mosque in the Old City, killing one and injuring the other.
Israeli occupation forces continued their attacks across the Gaza Strip from early Friday, carrying out airstrikes, artillery shelling and gunfire in repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement.
The PIC correspondent said Israeli tanks opened heavy fire south of Khan Yunis and Rafah, with bullets reaching tents sheltering displaced Palestinians in Al-Mawasi, west of Rafah.
An Israeli Apache helicopter also opened fire toward eastern areas of Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza and areas east of Gaza City.
Israeli artillery shelled eastern Gaza City and the town of Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, while another attack targeted northwestern Rafah in the south. Israeli drones continued flying over Jabalia and Khan Yunis throughout the morning.
Israeli forces also carried out a demolition operation east of Gaza City at dawn, while firing flare bombs over western Rafah.
During the night, Israeli naval vessels opened heavy fire off the coasts of Khan Yunis and Gaza City, as artillery shells struck eastern and southern areas of Khan Yunis.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has continued its genocide in the Gaza Strip through killing, starvation, destruction and forced displacement, despite international appeals and orders by the International Court of Justice.
According to figures from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the war has left more than 246,000 Palestinians martyred or wounded, most of them women and children.
More than 9,000 people remain missing, while hundreds of thousands have been displaced amid widespread destruction and famine that has claimed many lives, including children.
