GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Asra Media Office (AMO) said on Wednesday that several Palestinian prisoners from the Gaza Strip were injured during a violent raid carried out by Israeli forces inside Negev jail about two weeks ago.
According to AMO, among the wounded detainees was a physician from Gaza who was struck by three rubber bullets during the crackdown, while another prisoner was beaten with batons and suffered broken ribs.
AMO added that those forces set dogs on Gaza prisoners and forced them to lie face down on the ground before savagely assaulting them.
It held the Israeli prison service responsible for the safety of prisoners from the Gaza Strip and called for urgent international action to halt crackdown operations in Israeli jails and hold those responsible accountable.
Meanwhile, senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi said that the suffering of Gaza prisoners from injuries following a recent brutal crackdown on them in Negev jail reflects the size of abuse endured by Palestinian prisoners.
Mardawi stressed on Wednesday that testimonies emerging from prisons regarding torture and mistreatment require a strong response in support of Palestinian prisoners.
