GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem affirmed that the continuous statements of the criminal Israeli leaders, most recently from the Army Minister Israel Katz about pursuing the plan to displace Gaza’s residents, prove that “the illusion of uprooting our people from their land still haunts the enemy’s leaders, despite their abject failure to break our people’s will or impose their aggressive projects throughout months of war and genocide.”
Qassem stressed in a statement on Thursday that Katz’s criminal remarks clearly show that the Israeli government was not genuinely committed to the ceasefire agreement, and that it harbors a premeditated intent to overturn it and evade its obligations whenever it deems fit, as Katz himself openly declared.
The Hamas spokesperson explained that these dangerous statements require a clear and responsible stance from the Peace Council and its representatives, from the US administration that endorsed the peace plan, from the guarantor and mediator states in the agreement, and from the parties that took part in the Sharm El-Sheikh conference to sign the Gaza ceasefire.
He called on Arab states, especially those targeted by displacement schemes, to take practical and effective action to block this dangerous project, and to work at all political, diplomatic, and legal levels to confront the agenda of this extremist right-wing government and resist its attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause through forced displacement and uprooting of the Palestinian people.
