GAZA, (The Palestine Information Centre)Hamas Movement condemned Britain’s decision to oppose the International Court of Justice (ICJ) from addressing the legality of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories by submitting an opinion expressing their opposition to the hearing of the case in the ICJ altogether.
Hamas believed that this decision is a continuation of Britain’s historical support of Israeli colonial occupation policies that resulted in the denial of the Palestinian people’s rights.
This decision is deeply rooted in Britain’s infamous Balfour Declaration and its whitewashing of the fascist occupation crimes against the Palestinian people, land, and holy sites, the Movement said.
“Britain’s endeavors to block international courts from stopping the occupation forces and colonial settlers’ heinous crimes against the Palestinian people are a violation of the principles of justice and equality.”
In this regard, Hamas called on Britain and the international community to end “the double-standard policy towards the situation in Palestine and assume their responsibility to end the settler-colonial occupation of Palestine and prosecute its leaders for their crimes against the oppressed Palestinian people, until liberation and self-determination are achieved.”
