Hamas Marks October 7 Anniversary as “Historic Milestone,” Reasserts Right to Resistance

GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Hamas Movement said that October 7, 2023 marked a “historic and honorable milestone” in the Palestinian national struggle, stressing that resistance is a legitimate right until the liberation of the Palestinian land from the Israeli occupation.

In a statement marking the third anniversary of “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood,” Hamas said on Wednesday that the battle was a “natural response to decades of aggression, blockade, and systematic killings.”

Hamas affirmed that “the spirit of Al-Aqsa Flood remains alive,” adding that attempts by the Israeli occupation to portray October 7 as the start of the conflict is an “explicit falsification of reality.”

Hamas commended the resilience of Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, saying the return of families to destroyed neighborhoods proves their attachment to their land and their rejection of any displacement schemes.

The Movement said that the war had shifted into a “silent genocide” following the October 10, 2025 ceasefire agreement, adding that about 1,500 Palestinians had been killed and over 5,000 injured since the truce started.

Hamas said Israeli military raids, arrests, and home demolitions in the West Bank and Jerusalem continue unabated alongside escalating settler attacks, describing them as “part of plans aimed at displacing Palestinians and imposing new settlement realities on the ground.”

Hamas reiterated the need for the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice to start prosecuting Israeli officials accused of committing genocide.

The Movement also urged the Arab and Islamic countries and the international community to step up pressure to put an end to Israel’s war of genocide, displacement, and starvation in the Gaza Strip.
