GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Hamas Movement said that the Israeli Supreme Court’s decision to reject a petition against the so-called “International Organizations Registration Law” is further evidence of the Israeli judiciary’s complicity in restricting the work of humanitarian and international organizations.
In a statement, the Movement warned that enforcing the law would worsen the already dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, where Palestinians continue to face severe hardship.
Hamas argued that the ruling supports government efforts to tighten restrictions on humanitarian and relief operations in the Palestinian territories, limiting the ability of international organizations to deliver essential services and assistance.
The Movement also warned that the measure could further obstruct relief efforts and increase the suffering of civilians by reducing the capacity of aid agencies to operate effectively.
Hamas said that international opposition to the law, including a joint statement signed by more than 20 countries and international organizations, should go beyond political condemnation and be translated into concrete action.
The Movement called on the international community to pressure Israel to halt implementation of the law and ensure that humanitarian and relief organizations can carry out aid, recovery, and assistance programs without restrictions.
Hamas stressed the need to safeguard humanitarian operations in the Palestinian territories amid mounting challenges facing organizations working on the ground.
