BEIRUT, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Hamas office in Lebanon has rejected the decision by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to cancel the hiring process for Islamic education teachers in its schools.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Hamas said it opposes UNRWA’s decision to halt the recruitment of Islamic education teachers, regardless of the reasons or justifications behind it.
The Hamas Movement stressed that Islamic education is not a marginal subject but a core component of students’ moral, ethical, and religious development, contributing to awareness and character building.
Hamas called on UNRWA to immediately reverse the decision and secure the necessary funding to proceed with the recruitment process, regardless of the reasons cited for its cancellation.
