TULKAREM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A Palestinian young man was killed and two others were injured, on Friday evening in clashes that erupted between Palestinian young men and Israeli occupation forces (IOF) who invaded the town of Zeita, northeast of Tulkarem city in northern West Bank, triggering protests among local Palestinian youths.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that Palestinian university student, Khaled Ahmed Zubaidi, 19, had succumbed to wounds he sustained at the hands of IOF.
Director of the Thabet Thabet hospital in Tulkarem, Dr. Amin Khader, said that Zubaidi was hit with a bullet in his waist and was severely beaten by the IOF soldiers, adding that he died of severe internal bleeding as a result of the live bullet and beating.
The IOF soldiers fired live bullets and tear gas canisters, wounding two young men in their lower limbs with live bullets.
Local sources reported that the IOF prevented ambulance crews from reaching the injured young men, adding that they managed to transfer them to hospital only after the withdrawal of the occupation forces.
