BEIRUT, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on areas in south Lebanon at dawn Friday, alongside artillery shelling that targeted several locations, amid intensive Israeli aircraft activity over the region.
Lebanon’s official National News Agency reported that the strikes targeted Ali Al-Taher Hill, areas between Al-Dabsha Hill and Dawhat Kfar Rumman, and the vicinity of the northern suburb of Nabatieh Al-Fawqa.
Israeli artillery shelling also hit sites in south Lebanon, including Ali Al-Taher Hill, as warplanes flew at low altitude over the targeted areas.
The escalation comes as tensions continue along the southern front, with Israeli occupation forces intensifying airstrikes and shelling in recent weeks, alongside Lebanese-Israeli negotiations under US sponsorship over security arrangements, borders and Israel’s withdrawal from parts of south Lebanon.
The Israeli assault on Lebanon continues despite the signing of a US-sponsored framework agreement between Beirut and Tel Aviv on June 26, 2026. Israeli military operations had begun on March 2 and have left tens of thousands of people martyred and wounded.
