OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Israeli police forces stormed Qalandia refugee camp and the town of Kafr Aqab in northern Jerusalem, spreading in their streets and neighborhoods and beginning the evacuation of an UNRWA compound.
Local sources reported that Israeli forces carried out raids and searches and interrogated several residents during their campaign in Qalandia and Kafr Aqab.
Israel’s far‑right security minister Itamar Ben Gvir joined the raid in Kafr Aqab, declaring he had launched an operation to evacuate the UNRWA building, claiming that there is no place for UNRWA in Jerusalem or Israel.
The sources said that Israeli forces detained and interrogated 40 employees and everyone present at the UNRWA-run Qalandia vocational training center in Kafr Aqab, warning of measures to seize and demolish the facility.
Police officers also distributed demolition and evacuation notices to several homes and facilities near the separation wall in Kafr Aqab, while tightening military measures in the area.
The Hebrew media said that Israeli forces would start demolishing an UNRWA compound in Jerusalem on Tuesday.
UNRWA had earlier warned of an Israeli plan targeting its premises at the site, which includes educational, vocational, and health facilities.
Today’s measures are part of an escalating Israeli campaign against UNRWA and its facilities in Occupied Jerusalem, amid ongoing efforts to ban the agency’s activities and prevent it from operating completely, despite its UN mandate to provide services to Palestinian refugees.
