Tel Aviv, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), In a sweeping shift of U.S. policy, President Donald Trump is imposing unprecedented constraints on Israeli military operations not merely in Lebanon, but across every active theater according to a bombshell report by Israel’s Channel 13. Citing senior political and defense sources, the network warns that the once-unfettered operational latitude enjoyed by the Israeli Forces is rapidly eroding under intensified American pressure.
The report details explicit geographic red lines now being enforced in Lebanon. While Tel Aviv’s political echelon has authorized the IOF to act within the delineated Green Line zone to neutralize immediate, on-the-ground threats, deeper strikes into the capital, Beirut, and the southern port city of Tyre have been categorically prohibited. A senior Israeli official told the channel: “The message we have received from the Americans in recent weeks is unequivocal. You had a license to act without restriction—and that license has been revoked.”
Domestic military deliberations are equally overshadowed by White House intervention. On Monday evening, IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir convened top commanders to assess the situation in the Gaza Strip, with a specific focus on Hamas’s resurgence. According to the broadcast, the military leadership presented a recommendation to launch a large-scale operation aimed at systematically disarming the militant group. However, the high-level talks were reportedly clouded by acute concerns that President Trump might preempt any serious escalation, potentially pressing Israel to show flexibility regarding Hamas’s weapons stockpiles a move that senior officers fear would leave the security threat intact.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly pushed back against any perception of strategic retreat, asserting: “I affirm that we will remain in the security zone in southern Lebanon for as long as necessary to protect the residents of the north and all citizens of the country.”
Compounding ‘Israel’s’ growing strategic isolation, mediators following the first round of U.S.-Iran talks have taken a significant multilateral step without Israeli involvement. Qatar and Pakistan jointly announced the establishment of a “conflict prevention cell in Lebanon” a mechanism explicitly designed to monitor and enforce adherence to the cessation of hostilities on Lebanese territory, in accordance with the provisions of the bilateral ceasefire memorandum. Notably, no representative from the Israeli entity was invited to participate in the formation or proceedings of this new oversight body.
