JENIN, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have continued excavation and land-clearing operations for the seventh consecutive day in the Al-Jabriyat neighborhood of central Jenin as part of plans to establish a new military base in the area.
Local sources reported that Israeli bulldozers are continuing work on a seven-dunum agricultural plot that was seized despite being located within Area A, which falls under Palestinian administrative control.
Last week, the IOF evacuated two occupied homes near the confiscated land and forced their residents to leave as part of preparations for the construction of the military facility.
The planned base is expected to directly overlook the Jenin refugee camp, which has been subjected to ongoing Israeli military operations since 21 January 2025, including large-scale raids and the forced displacement of residents.
The continuing offensive on the city and its refugee camp has displaced approximately 21,000 Palestinians from their homes. Nearly half of the camp’s buildings have sustained complete or partial destruction, leaving large numbers of homes uninhabitable.
