AL-KHALIL, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Settler violence has intensified in the Masafer Yatta area south of al-Khalil, with a series of coordinated attacks targeting Palestinian property, farmland, and religious sites, reflecting a broader escalation across the West Bank.
According to local sources, armed settlers raided areas in Masafer Yatta on Friday, stealing a tent and agricultural equipment belonging to a Palestinian resident, Farid Abu Ali, in Wadi al-Jawaya. The attackers reportedly dismantled the structure before seizing it, along with other farming tools.
In a separate incident in the Huwwara area, an armed settler blocked farmer Adel Hammamda and his family from reaching their land, preventing them from harvesting crops and threatening them with forced displacement.
Similar attacks were reported in the village of al-Burj, southwest of al-Khalil, where settlers released their cattle onto Palestinian farmland after denying landowners access to their fields.
The escalation also extended to religious provocation. On Thursday evening, settlers raised the Israeli flag atop the minaret of a mosque in the al-Rifaiya area east of Yatta, in an act widely condemned by residents.

Activist Osama Makhamra said settlers also placed flags along a nearby bypass road linking al-Deirat and al-Rifaiya.
These incidents come amid a sharp rise in settler violence. Data from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission indicates that more than 1,800 attacks have been recorded since March and early April 2026, while 1,819 violations were documented in March alone.
The pattern of attacks, ranging from land seizures and intimidation to religious desecration, highlights an intensifying campaign targeting Palestinian communities and their livelihoods, often carried out under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
