DOHA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The head of Hamas’s foreign political bureau Khaled Mishaal said that the Israeli occupation is resuming the war on Gaza not only to exert pressure in negotiations, but also to restore its image and avenge what happened on October 7, as part of a systematic displacement project supported by the United States to ensure its supremacy in the region.
This came during a meeting organized by the Global Coalition to Support Jerusalem and Palestine, attended by 400 people via Zoom.
During the event, Mishaal discussed the progress of the Doha negotiations, the motives for the war, and its impact on regional stability, in addition to the required Arab and Islamic role in supporting Gaza.
Mishaal explained that the Israeli occupation had violated the truce agreement since the sixteenth day of the first phase, revealing its intentions to prolong negotiations to recover its captives without halting the aggression and transforming Gaza into an inhospitable environment.
He emphasized that the resistance responded to US envoy Steve Witkoff’s proposals with flexibility and firmness, but refused to extend the first phase without guarantees of a sustainable ceasefire and the occupation’s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.
Mishaal warned that the conflict would spread beyond Gaza’s boundaries and affect the neighboring nations. He added that Washington aims to strengthen Israeli dominance and that any disputes between them are merely tactical and have no bearing on the core of the strategic partnership.
The Hamas official concluded by stressing the need to transform Arab and Islamic positions against displacement projects into practical steps to support Gaza, through mass mobilization, financial and media support, and the formation of a political front that imposes new equations on the Israeli occupation and its allies.
