Palestine Foundation Pakistan Secretary General meets senior journalists in Peshawar
Peshawar (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Secretary General of Palestine Foundation Pakistan, Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam, held a special meeting in Peshawar with senior journalists and columnists, where he discussed the current situation in Palestine, Lebanon, and Iran in the aftermath of alleged US and Israeli aggression.
Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam praised the role of journalists and columnists from Peshawar and stated that the Palestinian issue is the most important global issue. He said that, under US patronage, Israel has carried out genocide in Gaza and Lebanon. He claimed that 1.8 million people in Gaza and 1.2 million in Lebanon have been displaced due to Israeli aggression, while residential buildings, hospitals, schools, mosques, and universities have been destroyed.
He further stated that the alleged US and Israeli aggression against Iran aims to divide the region and eliminate the Palestinian cause. He also alleged that the US and Israel targeted Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and launched missile strikes on innocent schoolchildren, resulting in the martyrdom of 168 children. He said such actions reflect war crimes that have caused widespread destruction across the region.
Addressing the journalists, he said that the solution to the Palestine issue must be based on the will of the Palestinian people, and that neither the United States nor Europe has the right to decide the future of Palestine. He added that if a separate state is needed for Zionists, then Israel should be relocated to the United States, Europe, or any other place.
He strongly condemned alleged US and Israeli aggression in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iran, and stressed the need for unity and solidarity in Pakistan to counter external conspiracies. He also highlighted the legitimacy of resistance movements such as Hamas and Hezbollah, and spoke about the successes of Operation “Tufan al-Aqsa.”
Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam announced that May 15 would be observed as Nakba Day across the country, with programs organized in support of the Palestinian people. He urged the media community to support Palestine Foundation Pakistan in highlighting the Palestinian cause.
The event was hosted by Advocate Ghazanfar Ali, Azhar Ali, and others from the Peshawar chapter of Palestine Foundation Pakistan.
Senior journalists present at the event included Shamim Shahid, Dr. Alamgir Afridi, Sairam Anwar, Saif-ul-Islam Saifi, Farmanullah Jan, Waqar Ahmad Awan, Dr. Israr Ahmed, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, Javed Ali Khilji, Umar Hayat, Azhar Ali, Shehzad Ahmad, Jahanzeb Sarhadi, Sajad Hussain, Javed Iqbal, Abu Bakar Siddiq, Javed Afridi, Nasir Hussain, Wajid Shehzad, Amjad Hadi Yousafzai, Mubashir Islam, Javed Afridi, and Muhammad Hassan, among others.
