ISLAMABAD, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The US administration and Iran said last night that they reached a deal to end the Middle East war on all fronts including Lebanon, and reopen the vital Strait of Hormuz.
The agreement takes immediate effect with the lifting of the US blockade on Iranian ports.
Pakistani premier Shehbaz Sharif announced the agreement, adding that the official signing of the agreement would take place next Friday, June 19, in Switzerland.
“Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the peace deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran has been reached,” Sharif said on X. “Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.”
He further explained that “as the agreement comes into effect, mediators will work to facilitate a series of meetings this week.”
In a post on Truth Social, US president Donald Trump affirmed that “the deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete.”
“Congratulations to all. I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade,” he said.
