TEHRAN, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Iranian media reported a series of explosions and airstrikes on Friday evening in several areas of southern and southeastern Iran, carried out by US aircraft and left people martyred and wounded.
Iranian state television said a driver was killed while crossing one of two bridges targeted in Bandar Khamir, in Hormozgan province.
Fars news agency reported that one person was killed and eight others wounded in a US attack on a residential neighborhood in Bandar Abbas.
IRNA reported hearing two explosions in the southern city of Bushehr, while Mehr news agency said around 10 new explosions took place in Qeshm Island in Hormozgan province following US airstrikes.
Iranian television also reported eight explosions near the village of Masan in Qeshm Island and six consecutive explosions in Hamidiyeh, in the southwestern province of Khuzestan. It added that at least one US projectile struck Iranshahr Airport in Sistan and Baluchestan province.
Tasnim news agency said the attacks hit several sites, including a communications tower in Bandar Abbas, causing a power outage in the area. It also reported that seven people were wounded in an attack on part of the city.
The agency said the strikes targeted Iranshahr Airport and the bridge connecting Bandar Abbas and Shiraz, and reported explosions near the airport as well as attacks on Bandar Khamir and Khowrstan in Hormozgan province.
Traffic on the Bandar Abbas-Khowrstan-Lar route was closed after the Shur River bridge was hit, Tasnim added.
The United States and Iran had exchanged new rounds of military attacks earlier Friday, including strikes on US bases in the Gulf and Jordan and US attacks on military sites and defense facilities inside Iran, amid escalating threats over the Strait of Hormuz.
