GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The World Food Program (WFP) has stated that two million people in Gaza — the majority of whom are displaced and have no source of income — are now entirely dependent on humanitarian assistance.
The agency warned that with rapidly depleting food stocks and the ongoing closure of crossings, the need for immediate food access to Gaza is critical.
It further noted that hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are at imminent risk as food supplies continue to diminish.
Just days earlier, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) announced that Gaza had entered a phase of “extreme hunger,” following Israel’s continued closure of all crossings since 2 March, which has resulted in the exhaustion of essential supplies across the besieged territory
