WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Israeli settlement expansion and military restrictions have displaced 50 Palestinian Bedouin and herding communities across the West Bank since late 2023, the Palestinian Independent Commission for Human Rights said on Friday.
The finding was presented as part of a survey conducted with the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics. The data also documented around 300 violations targeting residents and institutions in Bedouin communities during April 2025 alone.
At a press conference, commission director-general Ammar Dweik called for a comprehensive national plan based on development and human rights to strengthen the resilience of Bedouin and herding communities.

He stressed the need for meaningful investment, legal and physical protection, and access to essential services amid Israeli demolitions, demolition orders, land and grazing-area seizures, movement restrictions and escalating settler attacks that threaten residents’ livelihoods.
Sufian Abu Harb, acting head of the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, said accurate data was essential to defending the rights of communities facing systematic marginalization, forced displacement and deprivation of basic services.

He said their living conditions remained highly vulnerable. Israeli restrictions prevent the construction of permanent health facilities, forcing residents to rely largely on mobile clinics, he added.
Abu Harb said that the Israeli systematic destruction of water sources also compels families to purchase water and transport it in private tanks.

Schools in Bedouin communities repeatedly face demolition orders, while many children must walk long distances to attend classes because of limited services and difficulty reaching schools.
