OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Two Palestinian men were injured, and four others were arrested Friday evening during an attack by Israeli settlers and Israeli forces on the Bedouin village of Al-Tabna, near Khan al-Ahmar, east of Occupied Jerusalem.
According to the Palestinian Authority’s Jerusalem Governorate, one settler struck two young men with a motorcycle, leaving them with bruises, while another sprayed pepper spray at several residents of the village.
The governorate said Israeli forces then raided the village and arrested four Palestinian men after residents attempted to prevent settlers from stealing sheep from the community.
The incidents are part of an escalation in settler violence against Palestinians and their property across the occupied West Bank, amid continued raids and attacks.
Palestinian groups have renewed calls for increased resistance against settler attacks in cities, towns, and villages throughout the West Bank.
In a separate incident on Friday, settlers seized control of Ein Rawabi, east of the town of Anata, northeast of Jerusalem, after vandalizing the spring. The site is a primary water source for nearby Bedouin communities and shepherds.
The Jerusalem Governorate said the spring is the only water source used by local herders for drinking water and livestock, supplying approximately 1,300 sheep. It warned that the takeover poses a direct threat to the livelihoods of dozens of Bedouin families.
The governorate added that the incident is part of an ongoing policy by Israeli authorities and settlers to pressure Palestinian shepherds by restricting access to grazing land and water resources in an effort to force them off their land.
It noted that the area has recently witnessed a series of settler attacks, including the construction of settlement access roads toward the spring, attempts to steal livestock, and assaults on Palestinian shepherds.
