Gaza’s health ministry warns ambulance sector is nearing total paralysis

GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Gaza’s health ministry has warned that its ambulance and transport sector is nearing “total paralysis” amid a worsening operational crisis that threatens the continuity of medical services.

Addressing a news conference held on Sunday, a spokesman for the ministry called for urgent international action to secure fuel, engine oil, spare parts, and new emergency vehicles to protect patients and medical staff amid mounting risks.

According to the spokesman, 70 percent of the ministry’s ambulances and transport vehicles have been rendered inoperative as a result of the blockade, repeated targeting, and mechanical failures.

The ministry urged the international community, especially the UN and humanitarian institutions, to act immediately to provide it with spare parts, operational needs, and 60-diesel-powered ambulances to keep Gaza’s remaining emergency services functional.
