Israeli occupation extends detention of Ahmad Al-Khatib without charge

RAMALLAH, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Tuesday extended the administrative detention of Palestinian journalist Ahmad Al-Khatib, from the town of Beitunia west of Ramallah, for an additional six months.

The IOA decision came after Al-Khatib was arrested following a violent military raid on his home in Beitunia on June 23rd.

Al-Khatib is a former prisoner who has been detained multiple times by Israeli forces, spending nearly two years in Israeli prisons, most of them under administrative detention without any formal charges.

His continued detention comes amid a growing pattern of Israeli violations against Palestinian journalists. The IOA currently holds over 45 journalists in its prisons, alongside ongoing assaults on media workers in both Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
