WEST BANK(Palestine Foundation Information Center)An Israeli soldier was injured on Friday evening when Palestinian resistance fighters opened fire at a military checkpoint in the west of Jenin City, north of the occupied West Bank.
In a communiqué, the Jenin Brigades said that its fighters showered the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and their patrol vehicles at the Dotan checkpoint with bullets.
The shooting operation happened near Ya’bad town, west of Jenin.
Later, the Israeli army put its forces on high alert in the area and launched a manhunt for the shooters.
In a separate incident, at least 23 Palestinian citizens suffered injuries during evening clashes with Israeli forces in Tulkarem and Bethlehem.
Local sources in Tulkarem said that five citizens, including a child, were injured by live ammunition and dozens suffered from their exposure to tear gas in Qaffin town, adding that two of the wounded are in critical condition.
A number of citizens were also wounded during clashes with the IOF in al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem.
The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reporter in the West Bank said that five young men were injured by bullets, two of them seriously, during clashes with Israeli soldiers near the Jerusalem-al-Khalil street in al-Khader town.
A young man also suffered a shrapnel injury in his eye and dozens suffered from inhaling tear gas during the events in the town.
The Red Crescent said that its ambulance crews evacuated 18 wounded citizens from the town to hospitals.
