Settlers besiege Qusra for 12th consecutive day as raids hit Jordan Valley

WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Jewish settlers continued their siege of three homes in the town of Qusra, south of Nablus, on Thursday for the 12th consecutive day, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces (IOF), in an attempt to seize control of properties and impose a new reality on the ground.

Abdel Azim Wadi, head of the Qusra town council, said IOF and a number of settlers continue to surround three homes in the Ras al-Ain area, preventing the families from entering or leaving. One of the homes has been seized and converted into a military post, while the surrounding area has been declared a closed military zone.

Besieged families face food and medicine shortages

Wadi said the prolonged siege has created worsening humanitarian conditions for the trapped families, who are facing shortages of food and certain medications because IOF soldiers are preventing essential supplies from reaching the homes.

The siege comes amid continuing settler attacks across different parts of the occupied West Bank, with repeated efforts to pressure Palestinians into leaving their homes and land.

Repeated raids on Khirbet Samra

In the northern Jordan Valley, settlers broke into Khirbet Samra on Thursday and moved among residents’ tents in an almost daily occurrence.

Khirbet Samra and other Palestinian communities in the northern Jordan Valley have faced a continuing series of attacks, including incursions into residential communities, the harassment of shepherds, and the seizure of grazing land.

Local sources say these attacks are part of sustained pressure aimed at forcing Palestinian residents off their land by restricting their daily lives, threatening their livelihoods, and imposing new realities on the ground.

15-year-old girl and 70-year-old woman injured

Live-ammunition fragments injured a 15-year-old girl and a 70-year-old woman on Wednesday evening when Israeli forces raided a home in Qusra, south of Nablus in the northern West Bank.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said its crews treated both victims for shrapnel wounds to the side of the body after IOF stormed the house.

According to local sources, Israeli forces opened fire inside the home, injuring the two members of the family.

Israeli forces and settlers continue to carry out attacks across the West Bank amid ongoing raids, home incursions, and restrictions targeting Palestinians.

According to figures from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli forces and settlers carried out 2,256 attacks against Palestinians in July alone, including 1,458 attributed to Israeli forces.
