NEW YORK (Palestine Foundation Information Center) United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said in press statements on Sunday that the level of suffering in Gaza is unprecedented.
“The level of suffering we are witnessing in Gaza is unprecedented in my mandate as secretary-general of the United Nations. I’ve never seen such a level of death and destruction as we are seeing in Gaza in the last few months,” he clarified.
He further expressed “concern of turning Lebanon into another Gaza, which would be a devastating tragedy for the world.”
“I have previously condemned Hamas attacks and we need to condemn the attempt to impose collective punishment on the Palestinian people.”
Over the past 24 hours, the Israeli occupation army killed 40 Palestinians and wounded 58 others in the Gaza Strip.
The death toll from the ongoing Israeli bombardments and shooting attacks, which started on October 7, climbed to 41,431 martyrs and the number of the wounded surged to 95,818 people.
