RAMALLAH, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Asra Media Office (AMO) has called for an urgent intervention to save the life of Palestinian prisoner Yasin Hilmi Karkari, 49, from the town of Salim east of Nablus, in light of the deterioration of his health condition inside the Israeli prisons.
The office explained, in a statement issued on Sunday, that prisoner Karkari was subjected to an assault inside Ofer prison, which caused him fractures in the rib cage, in addition to injuries in the spleen and kidneys, which led to a dangerous deterioration in his health situation.
The family of the prisoner confirmed the continuation of the policy of medical negligence against him, despite his suffering from heart attacks and worsening health problems.
AMO pointed out that the Israeli prison administration did not transfer Karkari to the hospital except after he went on a hunger and water strike that lasted for eight days, indicating that he still needs urgent treatment and medical examinations.
AMO renewed its call to international and human rights institutions to intervene and pressure Israel to provide the necessary treatment for prisoner Karkari, and to put an end to the continuous violations that he is subjected to.
