Five Palestinians injured in settler attack northeast of Ramallah

RAMALLAH, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Five Palestinians were wounded on Thursday in a settler attack on a Palestinian vehicle in the Marj Si area, between the villages of Al-Mughayyir and Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah.

Local sources said a group of settlers stormed the area and intercepted a vehicle carrying several Palestinians. The settlers attacked the vehicle, causing it to overturn, before assaulting its passengers.

Those wounded were identified as Musa Abu Alia, Lafi Abu Naim, Mustafa Abu Alia, Mukhlis Abu Alia and his sister. Several passengers were taken to a hospital, while others received treatment at the Abu Falah Medical Center.

The attack comes amid an ongoing escalation in settler violence against Palestinians and their property in villages and towns northeast of Ramallah, alongside raids and attacks by Israeli occupation forces, creating an increasingly dangerous environment of violence and intimidation.

The month of July saw an unprecedented escalation in settler attacks, with 798 incidents recorded, including 228 in the Nablus governorate, 212 in Al-Khalil and 153 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh. A total of 4,286 settler attacks have been recorded since the beginning of 2026.

Settler attacks in July killed seven Palestinians in the Nablus and Ramallah governorates. Four of them were killed on July 24 during a settler attack on the outskirts of Tell village, west of Nablus.

The same month saw 440 incidents involving property destruction and land bulldozing, as well as 67 cases of confiscation and theft of Palestinian property. Settlers also uprooted, damaged or poisoned 5,027 trees, including 3,241 olive trees, with most incidents concentrated in Al-Khalil, Jenin, Qalqilya, Tubas and Nablus.

Hamas official Abdul Rahman Shadid said the settler attack on Palestinians and their vehicles between Al-Mughayyir and Abu Falah areas represented another escalation in the continuing attacks against Palestinians across the occupied West Bank.

“The targeting of Palestinians on the roads and attacks on their vehicles, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, will not break our people’s determination and resilience, nor will it succeed in displacing them or undermining their steadfastness and commitment to resistance,” Shadid said on Thursday.

He warned of the consequences of the Israeli government’s policies, accusing it of providing settlers with protection and cover for their attacks.

Shadid said escalating settler attacks across West Bank towns and villages would not bring security to the Israeli occupation, adding that Palestinians and the resistance would not remain silent in the face of brutal crimes.

He called for escalating all forms of resistance against the Israeli occupation and settlers, strengthening Palestinians’ resilience and intensifying efforts to confront the attacks.
