DOHA, (The Palestine Information Centre)Marzouq al-Ghanem, member and former speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, phoned on Monday Ismail Haneyya, head of Hamas’s political bureau, to express his solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Ghanem also conveyed the Kuwaiti people’s support for the resistance in Gaza and applauded the Palestinian citizens and their resistance in Gaza for the sacrifices they had made and their heroic steadfastness in the face of the Israeli occupation.
Haneyya, for his part, expressed his appreciation to the Kuwaiti people for their constant readiness to provide Gaza with relief and humanitarian aid.
The Hamas leader briefed Ghanem on the crimes and massacres committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza, affirming that the resistance would continue fighting until the extraction of the Palestinian people’s usurped rights.
He stressed the need for urgent international action to curb Israel’s crimes in Gaza and provide its population with humanitarian needs.
In a related context, Haneyya received on the same day a phone call from Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan and briefed him on the latest developments of the Israeli aggression against Gaza.
Fidan affirmed his country’s position on the need to stop Israeli attacks on Gaza and work immediately on providing the population with humanitarian and relief aid.
The minister also expressed his solidarity with the Palestinian people, and said that Turkey “is moving in various diplomatic directions to end this painful scene.”
Haneyya thanked Fidan for his efforts to help Gaza and stressed the importance of the Turkish role in ending the Israeli aggression and supporting the Palestinian people’s right to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with the relevant international resolutions.
