Palestinian critically injured by IOF gunfire in Nablus village

WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), A Palestinian was shot and critically wounded by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Tuesday evening during a raid on Al-Amari refugee camp in Al-Bireh, in the central West Bank, as settler attacks and road closures continued across several villages in the Nablus governorate.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said a Palestinian suffering a gunshot wound to the abdomen was admitted to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah, describing his condition as critical.

The town of Kafr Aqab, north of Occupied Jerusalem, also witnessed confrontations on Tuesday evening after Israeli forces raided the area.

Local sources said Palestinian youths confronted the Israeli forces during the raid, prompting confrontations in which soldiers fired tear gas.

For the second consecutive day, Jewish settlers continued blocking secondary roads in the village of Beit Imrin, northwest of Nablus, using rocks and barriers, obstructing residents’ access to their homes and agricultural land.

Local sources said settlers blocked several roads, some leading to Palestinian homes and others to farmland, all located in areas classified as Area A.

The closures have isolated several families and prevented farmers from reaching their land amid continued settler attacks on residents and their property.

The attacks come amid an ongoing escalation in settlement activity in the area, including recent attempts to establish a new settlement outpost between the towns of Beit Imrin and Jaba.

On August 9, settlers carried out a pre-dawn raid on the village, stealing a tractor belonging to Palestinian resident Munir Shaker Haj Suleiman. Previous attacks in the area have also included the uprooting of olive trees.

Similar attacks were reported elsewhere in the Nablus governorate on Tuesday. Settlers blocked the road leading to the Sufan family home in Burin village with earth mounds and cut electricity poles supplying the house.

The towns of Qusra and Aqraba have also faced similar attacks amid an escalation in road closures, property damage and restrictions on Palestinian movement.

The attacks reflect the growing use of road closures, theft and property destruction to pressure Palestinian communities, particularly those near settlement outposts, threatening their access to their land and livelihoods.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission documented 2,256 attacks by IOF troops and settlers across the West Bank in July.

Of those, settlers carried out 798 attacks, killing seven Palestinians in Ramallah and Nablus and carrying out 440 acts of property destruction and land bulldozing.

The commission also documented 11,074 attacks by IOF and settlers during the first half of 2026, reflecting the escalating scale of attacks against Palestinians, their property and their land.
