OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), A Palestinian resistance fighter was martyred on Monday during clashes with Israeli occupation forces following a raid into Qalandiya Refugee Camp north of occupied Jerusalem.
Local Jerusalem sources said Israeli forces stormed the Vocational Training Institute adjacent to the camp and fired a heavy barrage of tear gas canisters, stun grenades, and live ammunition during the incursion.
The assault left a young Palestinian critically wounded after being shot in the head. He was later pronounced dead from his injuries.
Sources also reported that Israeli forces opened fire to prevent an ambulance from reaching the wounded man inside Qalandiya camp, further escalating tensions during the raid.
For its part, the Hamas Movement praised what it described as the “heroic operation” and armed clash targeting Israeli occupation forces in Qalandiya refugee camp north of occupied Jerusalem.
It said the attack reflected the spirit of resistance, steadfastness, and the Palestinian people’s determination to confront Israeli raids and ongoing attacks in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem.
In a statement, Hamas mourned the martyrdom of the resistance fighter, Ayman al-Hashlamoun, praising his courage and declaring that his “pure blood will remain a beacon for free people everywhere.”
The Movement said such sacrifices and acts of resistance represent a rejection of submission to occupation and its policies, while serving as renewed motivation to continue the path of resistance “until liberation.”

Hamas added that Israeli attempts to crush Palestinian resistance and break the will of the Palestinian people would fail in the face of what it described as continued steadfastness and adherence to national rights.
It also reiterated that resistance would remain a “legitimate and inherent right” for Palestinians as long as the occupation continues on Palestinian land and holy sites.
